Faith Based Youth Literacy Program Grants

Question:

I am seeking funding for a very needful, 501(c)(3), program called "Write
The Vision Literacy Program." The mission of "Write the Vision Literacy
Program" is designed to equip, encourage, and provide our young people with
a true understanding of who they are and that they can become a viable
solution to the problems of today's society. "Write the Vision Literacy
Program" is a writing project, in which teens and young adults (between the
ages of 11-18) are encouraged to write from their hearts. Statistics have
shown that writing has a therapeutic effect.

As you know, finances are needed to support the efforts we make in order to
successfully meet the needs of our clients. As this opportunity is being
offered to every child in every church, school, youth organization, etc., we
anticipate an overwhelming number of participants. I would greatly
appreciate your assistance in seeking grants/funding for this project.

Answer:

Your faith based youth literacy project sounds wonderful and although I
would like to help you personally, I am not taking on any new clients at
this time. I do have two excellent options to suggest:

1. I teach grant writing and would love to have you attend one of my
workshops to help you find and successfully apply for faith based youth
literacy project grants. Currently the closest class to you is Pittsburgh on
May 19-20. Attached is a registration form for that workshop in case you are
interested. I'm sure you would find it to be well worth your investment of
time and money. For every student that attends I provide a list of 10-100
potential funders who are interested in funding their issue in their state.
So for you, I would search for funders interested in giving faith based
youth literacy grants in North Carolina, as well as elementary/secondary
education grants in North Carolina. Click here for detailed information

:

2. I have a colleague in Pennsylvania who is taking on new clients who I
would highly recommend. His writing skills are superb. He was a student of
mine a year ago and has already generated over $275,000 in grant funding for
his clients in just a short time. I am sending him a copy of this e-mail so
that he can contact you directly, or you can contact him via e-mail. If you
are wanting to hire a grant writer Bob would be great. I have seen samples
of his work and it is outstanding. I am totally confident he could get
grants for your faith based literacy project. Bob will be attending my grant
writing workshop in Pittsburgh on May 19-20, 2005 so if you decide to
attend, you would have an opportunity to meet him in person.

Finally, in closing I want to be sure you know about www.grants.gov and
www.fedgrants.gov. If you sign up at www.fedgrants.gov you will receive an
e-mail notification five days a week about all federal grants available, and
you can apply for them online at www.grants.gov. The latter also has great
information on how to write a grant proposal. I subscribe to
www.fconline.fdncenter.org
to research grant opportunities and feel it is very affordable. The
following link also has valuable information on faith based initiatives:

I hope this information helps in your search for faith based youth literacy
grants. Should you have any questions feel free to call me toll free.

Grants for Arizona Schools

Riley,

At the end of this correspondence is an example of what you get each day if
you sign up at www.fedgrants.gov to receive e-mail notifications. There is
one that might be of interest to your school district now:

ED
Headquarters and Regional Offices
Discretionary Grant and Mandatory Grant Competitions
Grants for the Integration of Schools and Mental Health Systems
Grants.

At the fedgrants website you can pick and choose which agencies you are
interested in, but I suggest asking for them all because you never know
where there might be a possiblity.

On my website I have an article that may be interest to you on Technology
Grants for Schools
:

I purchase a subscription to www.fconline.fdncenter.org to research private
and corporate foundations. There are three subscription options at $19.95,
$59.95 and $119.95 and each level up gives you access to more foundations
and information. I subscribe at the $59.95 level. You might call them and
see if you could has a trial membership for one day to see if it would be
helpful to you. I do not believe you have to sign up for any established
period of time, so if they don't offer a free trial membership you could
probably sign up for one month and try it. The way to search is to put in
the subject area: "elementary/secondary education, technology" and then put
"Arizona, National" in the geographic area. You'll probably get hundred of
results of foundations interested in funding projects for that interest in
your geographic area.
