In the US, there are over 2,000 private foundations interested in providing grants to faith-based organizations. In Texas alone, and similarly in other individual states, there are as many as 200 foundations that give grants to Faith Baised Organizations and Churches. US Government Grants conduct grant-writing workshops for a diverse range of faith based organizations, as well as schools, hospitals, government agencies, and community based organizations. Recently, USGG co-sponsored a grant-writing workshop in San Juan, Texas in collaboration with the Roman Catholic Diocese of Brownsville. Twenty-nine participants attended the workshop, including priests, nuns, and lay personnel from several Catholic Churches in the Rio Grande Valley. Each participant received a list of 10-100 foundations that give grants to faith based organizations. During the course of the two-day workshop, each participant learned how to develop a successful grant proposal for a project of his or her choice.
