Dear Angelique,
Thank you kindly for your support in attending Beverly Santicola's Grant Writing Workshop this April 18 and 19 in Mishawaka, IN. I am so grateful to have had this opportunity. What impressed me so much was Beverly's vast knowledge and tireless delivery. She was generous with divulging her personal experiences with grant research and fostered an environment where I could apply the information through collaborating with others and develop my own mock grant proposal. It was masterfully done. Kudos to Beverly!
I am an artist who once worked with internationally known artists, studied at the Glasgow School of Art in Scotland, traveled throughout Scotland, London and Paris and exhibited my art work in many group and solo shows. I went from that to nothing. After caring for my parents and seeing my last child off to college (this coming fall) I found myself in isolation and disconnected to the collaboration of other artists.
Beverly's workshop gave me hope to a new future. When she situated us into sub-groups to work on particular mock grant proposals, I began to feel a sense of belonging to a larger whole as opposed to working in isolation as I had been accustomed to. This felt very empowering to me and gave me a sense of limitless possibilities.
Even though I am still in the thick of hospital visits, funeral planning and graduation planning, I feel comforted to have had the glimpse of hope that Beverly's workshop provided me with.
My sincere thanks for your generous support!
Sincerely,
Lillian S. Spice
