The Professional USGG Online Grant Writing Course, called Grant Writing as a Career includes 10 learning modules designed to teach the basics of grant writing up through complicated grant proposals that require extensive research to describe the need for the project. Included in the self-paced course are research strategies to find hundreds of grant funding opportunities, as well as target research for project funders. Profiles of private foundations that share the applicant’s interests and geographic location will be provided to the participant with contact information, grant guidelines, and grant deadlines. Participants receive a PowerPoint presentation with audio and more than 175 training slides, a 250 page workbook with sample grant proposals and hundreds of funding resources, and ten (10) online conference consultations. At the end of the course individuals will have the skills necessary to begin their own Grant Writing Career, whether it be a Home-Based Business or as a Professional Grant Writer for a Nonprofit Organization. Individuals who participate in the Grant Writing as a Career online course will have the opportunity to work at their own pace. Some students may complete the course in 10 weeks, while others with less time to devote may choose to spread the course out over several months. Participants should expect to commit 10-40 hours to the course activities for each module, depending upon the individual’s level of experience. Instructor
Beverly Santicola, President of USGG, directs the course, providing each student with one-on-one mentorship and training. Santicola has more than 25 years of experience in management, including 16 years within the non-profit sector. As a federal grants reviewer, Beverly has served as Chairperson for grants awarded by the US Dept. of Health and Human Services. She also has experience in working with the US Dept. of Labor, Centers for Disease Control, Office of Minority Health, and US Dept. of Education. As Director of a nonprofit organization between 1989 and 2001, she led numerous projects that won state and national awards for excellence, including the AFL-CIO National Labor—Management Award, Work in America—Search for Excellence Award, Best Practices Award from US Depts. of Education and Labor, and Governor’s Award for Team Excellence. Beverly is a member of the American Association of Grant Professionals, Greater Houston Grant Writers Network, and Texas Nonprofits.
Fees
The fee for this course is $300 per Module or $2,500 for the entire 10 module course when paid in advance. There are no contracts to sign, so participants can pay for the course one module at a time and complete as many (or as few) modules as they wish. Each payment of $300 will provide the participant with an additional learning module.
