General Questions: Hello, My question is, can you tell me how to find out when I will receive my grant. I was approved for a grant with a company named mygrantwriters.com back in April 2008 and I paid them a fee and was told it could take up to 6 weeks. The last thing I was told by a supervisor at mygrantwriters at the end of June 2008 is that the government would be sending out the checks after July 4, 2008 and I haven't received anything and now the company isn't answering the phone or responding to emails. General Questions: Please reply! My sister lives in Pasco County, Florida. Her and her husband live in a Moblie Home on their owned land. They have only one income. She is 62 and he is 78. He is on disability with the VA, but not 100%. Their income is rather low. They have no money to repair the wooden porch, and the wood is "spongy" when her husband's wheelchair (400Pounds) comes up the ramp into the Mobile Home. General Questions: I would like to know how I might go about applying for any government grants (if available) for Truck Driving Schools (CDL training). I am currently unemployed and didn't even have to file a return last year because my income was only about $3600.00. My company went out of business, and I am so in debt I can't even afford to file for bankruptcy. I tried to make a go of my own business last year, but even after setting up my LLCs, and getting all my ducks in order with a great business plan; I was not able to get any additional investors on board due to the downturn in the ecconomy. Now things are to the point where all is lost. Will you please send me any information you have on this matter. CDL training costs about $4300.00 dollars to attend, and I think this would be the best way to try to dig myself out of the mess I'm in. Any help you can give would be most appreciated. General Questions: First, I'm very encouraged by your website and the information posted on it. I am seriously interested in pursuing grant writing as a career. My husband is newly involved in a nonprofit organization and they need help with grant writing. I am trying to research, help, and learn how to write grants as much/fast as I can. I would like to know your recommendation on what to do as a new student of grant writing. Should I take the USGG workshops and then do the modules, or should I just do the modules? I'm trying to find out if the information in the workshops are in the online training modules. I don't know if I can do both, and if I will get the same information in the modules, then those are what I will pursue. I appreciate your quick response to my questions. :) I am very excited with anticipation at this soon to be career move for me and nonprofit opportunity for my husband. I am currently a school teacher (K-12) and there are a lot of job cuts in N.C. I have a Psychology degree and I am certified to teach Exceptional Children. I am currently teaching a reading program for at-risk (of failing) students. I love teaching so much, but I'm afraid their might not be long-term security in it for me. General Questions: Does the name of a nonprofit organization effect the grants it will be awarded? I work with local neighborhood associations and the members are concerned that they are not being considered for certain types of grants (development, educational, etc.) because they are organized as a "neighborhood association." I've been doing contract work as a researcher and quasi editor for attorneys but the recession has hit the legal industry hard, so here I am, with you, rejoicing and being very very glad, for your website brings me tidings of great joy! Possible employment! Paying my bills! Puttting my love of wtiting to work, my self starter and indepedence to good use seems just about "write" to me, as your own great success shows. Small detail right now... bit of kink in te money supply, would love to jump right in right now and get going but for a bit, the fee is the problem. I live in Plano,Texas. Is your on line course the same as your one day course to start? What would you do if you were me, with a cash crunch, incredible writing ability but a little short on cash to pay for your Houston seminar next week? General Questions: Hi I'm a 26 year old mother of a two year old. Before I was pregnant I worked two jobs for a total of 75 hours a week. I became very ill and on strict bedrest during my pregnancy which took nearly a year of my life from me. Gradually I have achieved short term goals that after being sick homeless and pregnant I am proud to say that I have a full time job and a great apartment for my son and I but only make 1,000 dollars a month full time! I have qualified for the wheels to work program in upstate new york but owe a DMV fee of sixhundred dollars from an accident that totaled my car. I need a grant to pay this off. I'm in extreme danger of losing everything I've accomplished without transportation. I paid off my college loans this year finally and have never had a credit card and yet my credit is bad. I can't even get a credit card with a limit of 500 dollars. I will never be able to pay this amount due to the fact that my monthy expenses are equal if not greater than my income. Help please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
